Basic Mandarin , Trying on Clothes

Bu hao yi si! It had been a while that I had not uploaded any new Mandarin lessons. The thing is I was under a hectic search of new producers and I was lucky to have been introduced to this production crew called FirstZoom.tv As you can see in the latest video, the problem many viewers had been complaining about, the audio quality, has finally been improved thanks to their professional skills and equipment.  :)

About two weeks ago, I went up to Taipei and we had a scout about the streets near our studio to look for shops and places we were allowed to film. I went in there store by store to explain to the owner my channel and the purpose of our filming and hopefully they could support us by letting us film there. Luckily, most shop owners were more than welcome when they knew it was to promote Mandarin learning to the learners worldwide. You can see my thanking the owners as it is displayed at the end of the video. :P

I am glad that I got to work with new people. It has been a pleasure working with FirstZoom.tv I appreciate their patience and time spent on my videos. In addition, I will also be featured in some of their videos on DiscoverFomosa in which topics about travelling to Taiwan will be covered such as culture, food and people. I am looking forward to it and for those who enjoy my videos, watch out for those! ;)

Finally, I hope this lesson helps you with your shopping in Mandarin speaking countries. Sorry about the long wait. I appreciate your patience and support! Next video won't take so long la. :) Xie xie!

Curious Observation at Mosque

Having had a number of Muslim friends around, I have finally made my journey to the Mosque in Taipei which I had been longing to visit. The journey was motivated not only by my great curiosity to Islam but also my growing desire to learn more about it. Unfortunately, I had only been exposed to the manipulated images of Muslim people on the media until I was lucky to have met people who were raised as Muslims in real life and thus enabled me to read different profiles and perspectives. Although most of them do not spontaneously talk about their beliefs but then again, my little knowledge of Islamic beliefs and curiosity have always driven forward our conversation to this sensitive topic most people would prefer to avoid.

Intermediate Chinese , Sentence Pattern

It's a lesson request from tsweezy101 on the sentence pattern of describing a person's capacity of performing an action. In addition, I have included two more sentence patterns which are used to describe the quantity or the time spent an action has required. The three sentence patterns in this lesson are fairly useful and commonly used on a daily basis. :)

You can make YOUR lesson request here on my website too! ;)

Taiwanese Snack , Stinky Tofu

I spent my CNY in the south and east of Taiwan. I was in Taitung (East) and couldnt help but noticed the long line queuing up outside of this Stinky Tofu place, my friend from Taitung also told me its a must eat! However, let me highlight a characteristic of this Taiwanese snacks, Stinky Tofu/chou4 dou4 fu3/臭豆腐: As you can tell from its name, it stinks! I grew up eating stinky tofu; I dont find it so stinky though. :P Yet the smell bothers many foreigners I know here in Taiwan as they drive or scoot by a night market. This video not only introduces Taiwanese delicacies but also recommends you to try it on for size if you ever visit the east coast of Taiwan, Taitung(台東). Zhu4 Da4jia1 Xin1 Nian2 Kuai4 Le4!!! ;)
