Deep Fried Snacks in Taiwan
Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 2:04PM I've begun to vlog about my life here in Taiwan. I try to capture interesting things, such as culture, food and people. Hope it'd be resourceful for those are traveling to Taiwan to take a glimpse at the island first and people who want learn about Taiwanese culture as well. It would also be a listening practice for lntermediate Chinese learners. I hope you understand most of what I said without having to looking at the English subtitle. Jia1 You2 Ba5! :D
I talked about one of the top 10 Taiwanese Street Food, Deep Fried Snacks, in this video. Street food takes a great part in our everyday life. We would grab something from a street food stand when heading to Bu3 Xi2 Ban1(補習班), also known as a “cram school”, after school when we are students; it’s fast, cheap and delicious but unhealthy(Nothing is healthier than eating at home, but we hadn’t have that choice). We go to night markets, where a large numbers of street food stands, cheap clothing, accessories, games and more are gathered as a street market at nights, ambling with the most leisure mind with food in one hand, a date, friend, kid or a pet in the other hand(I will soon be taking you all on a journey to a nightmarket in Chungli). We would conveniently make a brief stop by a street food stand picking up some dinner after work or school.
This video does not only introduce Taiwanese delicacy but also our way of living. Note that more of videos like this are coming up soon! :D
