I am leaving Fort Smith, Arkansas in a few days! My thoughtful friends threw me amazing farewell parties (欢送会 huānsònghuì)! We had some of my best times in the U.S. Thank you! ❤ Thank you Fort Smith, Arkansas for all the good people and good memories. -
Cultural Activity in Classroom - Mid-Autumn Festival (9)
As the end of the term approaches, we had our last Cultural Activity in Classroom episode today! Students learned about the Chinese traditional story of Cháng'é(嫦娥) and Hòu Yì(后羿). We also discussed the most well-known poem, Jìng yè sī(静夜思)by Chinese poet, Li Bo(李白). Next, they tried moon cakes, Chinese rice crackers along with Chinese green tea. :) -
Taiwan Will Touch Your Heart (41)
Taiwan did a successful job today at UAFS International Festival! Hundreds of people people came to challenage the pick-rice-with-chopsticks game for free prizes! Taiwan booth was PACKED!!! 今天的國際文化節台灣攤位擠爆了參加「筷子夾米競賽」的民眾!只要用筷子夾十粒生米即可獲獎唷!:D -
International Festival - Taiwan in the World (8)
There is an International Festival tomorrow at my host university! This year, with my presence, there is a Taiwan booth! It took me a long time to put this board together! There was a lot of researching, cutting and pasting. What do y'all think? :D Taiwan has prizes to give away! I wish you could stop by to play a chopstick-game to win one of these gifts. :) -
Cultural Activity in Classroom - Calligraphy (16)
We had a couple of Chinese calligraphy classes this week! I first introduced the vocabulary related to Chinese calligraphy and the well-known Four Treasures of the Study. Next, we practiced calligraphy and write three characters: 春 Spring,福 Fortune,蛇 Snake. I invited Professor Zhang to this class to present his amazing calligraphy skills. :) -

I introduced Chinese culture and art, Papercutting (剪紙 jiǎn zhǐ), to my class today. Since Chinese New Year is coming, we made the word "春 Chūn - Spring". :) -

Ambassador Liao gives a speech on Taiwan, the U.S. and China relations. UAFS faculty and students learn so much more about the cross-strait relations and how much Taiwan is able to come to its stage today with the help of the U.S. I am one of the speech coordinator of this event.
