This website is a good tool for finding out what pinyin and mandarin words mean if you are unsure. along with an audio snip so you can hear what its meant to sound like.

1. Dimsum ! GREAT dictionary. u can draw, find radicals anything and you can find it. but you MUST know the stroke orders and how to write the character correctly

2.Nciku.com WONDERFUL website. u can also draw ur characters, they have dialogue and monthly letters with vocabulary and conversations

3. http://www.popupchinese.com/tools/adso Great for Pinyin with tones =D

4. Chinesepod ! You can ways to download it (wink, wink) Hear conversations, and learn vocabulary.

Well i can't really recommend any real websites cause i don't know any good ones (besides this one :-)
